Qatargas hosts Sport Day activities for employees and their families

It was an exciting day out for Qatargas employees and their families as they enthusiastically showcased their sporting skills in the company's Qatar National Sport Day activities at Aspire Zone and Al-Khor Community on 14 February 2023.

The event was held to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles among Qatargas employees and their families. To Qatargas, sports are an obvious and natural way to bring diverse people together with fun activities that can translate to healthier lives.

Qatargas celebrated Qatar National Sport Day at both Aspire Zone in Doha, and Al Khor Community recreational club facility. The company showcased a wide variety of sporting options to appeal to all ages and all interests. In Doha, the day began with a group warm up exercises on stage, followed by a walkathon and a light spinning bike exercise. Other activities included football, volleyball, basketball, mini golf, badminton, five-hole target, table tennis, and foosball. There was also an exclusive ladies' area for light exercises. For younger participants, activities included a bouncy castle and multiple fun games such as the sack race, ball on the spoon race, and the three-legged race. Fitness classes were held for both adults and children. In addition, a football tournament took place with prizes given to the winning teams. Al Khor hosted similar activities, and included a cycling race, swimming challenge, and a martial arts demonstration.

The Qatargas Medical Team was also present with special activities and fun medical educational tools and activities for families.

​Building a healthy and productive society is a key objective of the Human Development Pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030, as well as an integral objective of Qatargas' Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Qatar's National Sport Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits of regular physical activity, both for individuals and society.
